Foreword:

Sweden is a travel destination where you can unwind and slow down. We've put together 8 daily stages (1750 km) and will travel 50 unpaved roads (700 km). The route passes numerous lakes, and the tracks often wind their way through the forest, sometimes in solitude. Just when you think you're alone, one or more isolated farmsteads suddenly appear. We've tried to compile the most scenic routes in Sweden, combined with paved roads that lead to some of the country's sights. The 4x4 Sweden guidebook/ebook is a mix of unpaved and paved roads. 

8 Daily stages (4x4 Sweden South):

The daily stages are a mix of paved and unpaved roads, and we've tried to adjust the stage lengths to the proportion of unpaved sections or the sights along the way. At the end of each day's stage, we've included accommodation suggestions, which could be guesthouses, hotels, or campsites.

Driving a day's stage:
Each day's stage has a route description to follow. At some point, you'll reach the start of an off-road section. The route description will indicate on which page you can find the detailed description of the off-road section. Once you've driven the off-road section, return to the route description for the day and continue following it.

In the book, we have broken down the individual nature trails with map sketches. This has the advantage that you can drive each off-road route independently of daily stages. It also makes it possible to use the nature trails for your own tour planning.

Each nature trail has a starting point (green) and an ending point (red), so the route can be driven from either direction.

Detailed information (Sweden nature trails) :

Each nature trail includes difficulty levels, landscape rating, altitude information (tunnels, branches, twigs) and bridges, as well as track width, whereby all trails are drivable without all-wheel drive and have a maximum difficulty level of 2 out of 5.
